Quality control: sign-off, rework and problem reports

Check finished work before it counts, send it back with a reason, and hear about problems from the field the moment they happen.

A job marked complete isn't the same as a job done well. Quality control closes that gap.

Sign-off

  • A manager checks a completed job's checklist and photos, then signs it off or sends it back.
  • Sending a job back requires a reason, and whoever is doing the job sees it at the top of the job.
  • Only managers can sign work off. A cleaner, or a company doing the job, cannot approve their own work.
  • A signed-off job is closed: its checklist can no longer be changed except by a manager.

Problem reports

  • Anyone working on a job can report a problem: damage, a missing item, something needing maintenance, no access to the property, or a safety hazard.
  • Mark a problem as stops the job, and the job is flagged as blocked until it is dealt with.
  • A manager resolves a problem with a note about what was done. When the last blocking problem is resolved, the job carries on where it left off.
  • Reported problems cannot be deleted. They stay part of the job's record.

The review page

A new Review page, linked from the task board, lists jobs waiting for sign-off, oldest first, and open problems, most serious first.
